Talk about a treat.......Kiss Me in Paris blog tour

Hi everyone I know that I have been absent lately.  Please forgive life has a way of biting you in the butt when you least expect it.  But for my return to the wonderful booking and cooking world the fantastic Kiss Me in Paris blog stop.

Authors: Kimberly Kinrade & Dmytry Karpov
Series: Deveuax #1 (standalone)
Publication: June 25, 2013 by Daring Books
Category: New Adult (NA)
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Synopsis:
When the city of love brings two lost souls together, only their darkest secrets can tear them apart.
Winter Deveaux tried love once. It didn't end well. Unable to open herself up to another heartbreak, she hides in her romance novels as she struggles to break out as a real author. She thinks Paris holds the answer to a new start, but when her nightmare follows her across the world, she's forced to face the darkness living like cancer inside her soul. If she doesn't, she might miss her chance to become the kind of writer she's always wanted to be. But more than that, she'll miss out on the greatest love she's ever known.
Cade Savage is heir to the largest ranching family in Texas. Part cowboy, part architect, Cade has his feet forever in two worlds. When he receives an acceptance letter from the school of his dreams, he must decide between family and destiny. But ghosts from his past still haunt him, and circumstances beyond his control may decide his fate.
When Winter and Cade meet, everything they believe about life, love and what it means to be happy is put to the test.
Will the magic of Paris pull these two lost souls together? Or will their darkest secrets tear them apart?
Kiss Me in Paris is a standalone novel in the Kiss Me series. Travel the world with the Deveaux sisters as they find love, and trouble, in all the right places.

Review:

Who hasn't dreamed of that one true love? Add in the back round of Paris and what could go wrong?  Cade and Winter learn that when true love turns life on its head  the best thing to do is follow the road together.
When I had initially signed up for this book tour I was a little leary I have seen duet authors go both ways and was interested to see how a husband and wife handle it.  they did a superb job using parts of their own fantastic love story, and both with a creative passion for writing, they wove a great story together that grabs you by page five and has Paris appearing in your dreams.
This beautiful story garners a 5 star rating from me and b9th authors have my unwavering attention in waiting for further publication.

Author Review:

I had the amazing honor of getting a few questions answered.  Take a look they are amazing.  :-)

What has inspired your writing?
KK: A lot has inspired my writing, but this book had its own inspiration. The initial inspiration for Kiss Me in Paris came from an illustration of the Eiffel Tower with a couple in silhouettes kissing in front. I came up with the title, Kiss Me in Paris, and the idea nagged at me. I thought it would be fun to have a series, a Kiss Me series, that takes the readers on a tour of the world's most romantic cities. That's when I conceived of the Deveaux sisters—world traveling sisters who find love, and trouble, in all the right places.
I'd been wanting to explore contemporary romance after writing two urban fantasy/paranormal series (The Forbidden Trilogy and the Seduced Saga), and this seemed the perfect place to start. I'd spent a summer studying at the Sorbonne (much like Winter and Cade do—in fact their dorm experiences were loosely based on mine), and I thought it would be fun to go back to Paris for this first book.

When I told my husband, Dmytry Karpov, about the idea, he and I started brainstorming characters, story lines and plots and we wound up writing the book together, which was the most exciting part of this experience. I loved writing a romance with my own Sexy Russian Prince.
DK: I've always been interested in writing a contemporary novel in order to explore themes that most people can relate to, like following your dreams, going against your families wishes and more. When Kimberly told me about her ideas for Kiss Me in Paris, it was the perfect novel for me to explore those themes in.
How do you juggle writing and the outside world (lol) ?
Being married to your co-author has its perks, and its drawbacks. Neither of us like to stop working to do stuff like making meals for us and our children or cleaning the house, but it's necessary. We divide the 'chores' of cleaning, cooking etc between the two of us equally, and we have times set to do certain things. Like before bed, we clean the kitchen and straighten up the house, and on Friday we do a more thorough cleaning of the house. We spent so many years working other jobs (like marketing for other authors) while writing, that we got used to working 24/7, but now that we are full time authors we've set limits on our work schedule. We work while the kids are at school, Monday through Friday, and on weekends and evenings it's family and personal time. It's hard when our muse is so demanding, but it's been wonderful to just enjoy that time with our little girls and each other. It definitely helps us balance everything. And the kids grow up so fast, that we don’t to miss any of it.

Do you ever write a whole story just to scrap it and start again?
KK: Yes. One. My first book, Death by Destiny, is not fit for public consumption. We'll still write it someday, but the entirety of what I've written has been scrapped to rewrite it from the beginning. It was basically my practice book. I spent years and years writing and rewriting and scrapping and rewriting. I learned a lot and grew a lot, but when I read it now, I cringe at spots. Since then, I've learned enough to know if a book or story is right before I start it. No more scrapping 
DK: I wrote a book in high school, The Exiled God, that was an epic fantasy. I had over 80k words written, and it grew so complex that I wrote myself into a corner. This was before I learned to outline. I hope we can eventually write some version of my original idea, but the project has been scrapped and would likely have to be rewritten entirely before it's published.

Do you have any real life times that come into play in Kiss Me In Paris?
KK: I used some of my own experiences in Paris to paint a more vivid picture for Cade and Winter, but their stories are their own. However, their lessons are universal, the journey of going after what you want in life, of falling in love, of having to choose between what you want and what others want for you… that's something we can all relate to. Also, the dorm rooms (including having to bring your own toilet paper to the bathrooms) and the party where she has to pee in a hole standing up, those were based on my experiences in Paris! And the French professor was named after my professor, who died of lung cancer many years ago.
DK: Being a writer, I was able to pull a little from my life to develop Winter's character. However, I had to come up with pretty much everything else.
For Kiss Me in Paris you collaborated with your husband and did this project together how did that go?
The journey was an intense one. It was the first contemporary romance either of us had written (since both of us come from fantasy/paranormal writing), and we wanted it to be more than just a love story. We wanted Kiss Me in Paris to be a novel that would evoke deep and varied emotion from its readers, that would make you laugh and cry and fall in love, all the while living vicariously through Cade and Winter as they learn to follow their dreams, heal from the past and open up to each other and to life.
First, we were on the same page when it came to what we wanted from this book. We rarely disagreed about the novels content. When we did, we asked for outside opinion (usually from our editor, Tracy Riva, or our awesome beta readers) and discussed the pros and cons of our different approaches. The approach with the most pros always won out, but we often found creative ways of fulfilling the intent of the other person, even if not in the exact way they'd wanted.
We also learned to comprise. Kimberly really pushed to get the novel finished, while Dmytry really pushed to keep editing. We balanced each other out, and finished a high quality product. It's never good to launch before the book is polished, but also, you have to know when to let it go and move on, otherwise you'll spend your whole life on one book. Together, we created a book that we can both be proud of, even if we did have to delay the launch a few times.
During this, we both acknowledged what the other person brought to the table, and how together we were doing something we couldn't have done on our own, at least not in the same way.
Every writer will have their own strengths, and in a co-writing situation, you need to play to those. In our case, Dmytry is the faster outliner and Kimberly is faster at prose. We also each enjoy those parts of writing more, so that's how we divided our tasks. We'd talk through the book, the characters and the story and make sure we both contributed to the big picture of what happened, then Dmytry would write detailed outlines for each chapter.
He also added a lot of dialogue, as he is very good at writing dialogue.
Kimberly would then flesh out the chapters, add prose, add more dialogue and even scenes and tweak as necessary.
We would then re-read the chapter together, changing and editing and adding and deleting, until we were both satisfied that the chapter was a 10. Once we'd done that level of editing on it, we sent it to the first round of editing, then beta readers, then editing some more. At the last, when we knew the content was exactly what we wanted, we sat together for two days straight and read through every single word of the book OUT LOUD. We then polished and perfected the prose, and sent it once again to our two editors for a final review.
It was an intense process, and there were nights we lost our patience, but it was worth it in the end. By playing to our strengths and using our team well, we created a book we're very proud of.

What is your favorite part of the writing process?

KK: That first inspiration when I sit down and begin writing. It's like falling in love for the first time. But also, I love the feeling of writing the last word, though bittersweet. Knowing that I've penned the novel that my soul was meant to write. It's a giddy feeling.
DK: I love outlining and writing the dialogue. Working out the character arcs and plot twists. It's part of the reason I'm exploring screenplay writing, as well.
Who if any are some authors that inspire you?
KK: I have a lot of inspirations, but given the hoopla going on recently about J.K. Rowling writing under a pen name, I'm going to say her. I admire the fact that after her huge success with Harry Potter, she kept writing and trying different genres and styles, even willing to start over with modest sales and a new name to build a new brand. Also, she is philanthropic and so giving of her time and money. Her books are amazing and if I could sit down with any author today for tea, it would be her and/or Neil Gaiman. I clearly have a thing for Brits.
DK: Right now, it would be Mark Lawrence. His dark fantasy, Prince of Thorns, pushed so many boundaries, and I loved it. As a writer, I like to feel free to write whatever I want. Not all critics agree with pushing boundaries, and sometimes I allow that to dull my creativity. I hate that. It's important to write what you love and take risks. Of course, I take in to consideration what my readers enjoy, but for the most part my motto is: if I love it, so will someone else.

The Tenor's Fall

Julian is a disgraced superstar, hated by everybody in America. Accused of a crime he didn't commit. He leaves everything behind and goes back to his roots, changing himself enough that he can go unrecognized by the people around him. He meets Sandy a young woman who teaches him how to laugh and live again. The two of them will have to confront his ghosts and the man responsible for Julian’s fall. This book contains adult/mature young adult situations.

Review:

What do you do when you fall from the top and chaos reigns around you?  If you are Julian you change your appearance slap on a disguise and go away for a change.    Together with Sandy who he meets along the way they forge a path together with love and a new understanding if the music within.  I enjoyed this book as a good afternoon read and would recommend it to anyone looking to escape for a little while.  I had to read a bit of it to really fall into the story but once I did the story was enjoyable and entertaining.  Pick up The Tenor's Fall and find how love will always show you the way back.

Longing for Home By.Sarah M Eden A Proper Romance

BLURB
Though she was only a child during the darkest days of Ireland’s Great Famine, Katie Macauley feels responsible for the loss of her family’s land and the death of her sister. Now a woman grown, Katie has left Ireland for America and the promise of earning money enough to return home again and plead for her family’s forgiveness. She arrives in Hope Springs, Wyoming Territory, a town sharply divided between the Americans who have settled there, with their deep hatred of the Irish, and the Irish immigrants who have come searching for a place to call home. Her arrival tips the precarious balance, and the feud erupts anew. Even in the midst of hatred and violence, however, Katie finds reason to hope. Two men, as different as they are intriguing, vie for her heart, turning her thoughts for the first time toward a future away from Ireland. Katie must now make the hardest decision of her life: stay and give her heart a chance at love, or return home and give her soul the possibility of peace.

Review:

When grief, pain and guilt have been the driving force in your life how do you learn to allow love in?  Katie was a different heroine then I am used to.  She was strong and fragile at the same time making for the inability to predict the outcomes of the situations.    In the beginning of the story I was worried that it would be a boring and predictable read but Ms. Eden has quite the word weaving power able to grab and capture your attention.   Follow Katie's journey and the adventure of learning to love.

King Hall By. Scarlett Dawn Blog Tour

Blurb:
A fresh, meaty, sink-your-teeth-in-and-hold-on-tight new adult fantasy series kicks off with King Hall…

King Hall — where the Mysticals go to learn their craft, get their degrees, and transition into adulthood. And where four new Rulers will rise and meet their destinies.

Lily Ruckler is adept at one thing:  survival.  Born a Mystical hybrid, her mere existence is forbidden, but her nightmare is only about to start. Fluke, happenstance, and a deep personal loss finds Lily deeply entrenched with those who would destroy her simply for existing — The Mystical Kings.  Being named future Queen of the Shifters shoves Lily into the spotlight, making her one of the most visible Mysticals in the world. But with risk comes a certain solace — her burgeoning friendships with the other three Prodigies: a wicked Vampire, a wild-child Mage, and a playboy Elemental. Backed by their faith and trust, Lily begins to relax into her new life.

Then chaos erupts as the fragile peace between Commoners and Mysticals is broken, and suddenly Lily realises the greatest threat was never from within, and her fear takes on a new name: the Revolution.

Review:

This book was wonderful!!  Take a long and perilous road through the world of paranormal where love takes on a whole new meaning with pain close behind.  Lily will go through more in such a short time then most go through in ten lifetimes.  It took approximately 5 seconds to get so enthralled with the story aching to know what came next that I ended up curling up missing dinner and staying that way till I finished.  There is pain in this book acute and brutal, love sharp and never ending, and of course the mysteries of magic in ALL its forms.  King Hall will give a whole new meaning to Paranormal.

5 out 5 stars

Xpresso Book Blitz DRUM ROLL please............ Violet Duke. The Complete Nice Girl Series

There will be a contest featured on the Booking and Cooking facebook page for one lucky readers very OWN copy!!!

Book & Author Details:

Nice Girl to Love: The Complete Collection by Violet Duke
Publication date: July 31st 2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Synopsis:
The • Nice • Girl n. 1. female of the species who never does anything or anyone bad: Hands-off, she’s a nice girl. 2. the woman that men take home to meet mom: Find my son a ‘nice girl to love.’ SEE ALSO: a good girl; girl scout; Abby Bartlett

This is the complete Nice Girl to Love serial romance collection, which contains: Resisting the Bad Boy (Book One), Falling for the Good Guy (Book Two), and Choosing the Right Man (Book Three).

THE ONE SHE NEVER THOUGHT SHE COULD KEEP…

Abby Bartlett is the quintessential nice girl. Between teaching, volunteering, completing her PhD, and helping her best friend raise his daughter, Abby never gets the chance to be anything but nice. That is, until the all-wrong-for-her man she’s only ever known from afar starts daring her to simply take that chance for herself. His sage advice? Try something wild and fast.  Preferably him.

An unbridled, hotshot attorney with a not-so-little black book, Connor Sullivan has earned himself quite the bad boy reputation. But in his defense, he’s a very conscientious one. He knows far too well that sometimes in life, love isn’t enough…or worse, not even a factor at all. To avoid that misery–and repel the drama–Connor has a firm ‘nothing over a month’ rule.  Who knew a nice girl would be the one to make him want to break all his rules?

THE ONE SHE NEVER HOPED SHE COULD HAVE…

Abby is well aware that everyone thinks she’s in love with her best friend Brian. He is, after all, the type of man a nice girl should be with—the polar opposite of the bad boy—the kind of guy who didn’t let his wife’s decade-long illness stop him from showering her with a lifetime of love every second until her dying day. But everyone’s wrong; she couldn’t possibly be in love with him.  Because she’s never once allowed herself that option.

It’s taken a while but Brian has finally come to terms with surviving the woman he spent half his life loving, a third of it losing. Truth is though, he wouldn’t have ‘survived’ any of it really had it not been for Abby—sweet, incredible Abby—the woman he’s never once had to picture his life without, never realized he couldn’t truly live without. Until now. Now that he’s finally able to love her the way she deserves, the way he knows she wants to be loved…by his brother.  Who’s giving him exactly one chance to speak now or forever hold his peace.

A DECISION SHE NEVER DREAMED SHE’D HAVE TO MAKE…

And now it’s up to Abby to decide between the bad boy wanting to start a life with her and the good guy fighting for the life they’ve already built.

Goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18209377-nice-girl-to-love

This has been a journey from start to finish.  I have learned to love as the characters grew along with them and as the hard times came I cried for their pain.  In this full series collection you will not need to wait as I have to see where the next turn will take you....I mean them.  I once compared this series to a free fall from a plane, a heart pounding drop from the sky with no understanding where you might land.  indeed this last book lived up to that feeling of amazed wonderment and when your feet do touch ground be prepared to start running, for in a story of loss, understanding and last but most importantly LOVE the story is never truly over!!!!
Now go journey with Abby, Conner, and Brian as they learn that Love is about the good and the bad.

Another five star review

Taming the Bachelor is a HOT grab you by the pants and won't let go story!!!!  Both parties are scared to open the locked down hearts that beat in their chests.  The hero is the alpha type that looks at everything as a challenge and the heroine is a honest and methodical brain type.   So what happens when passion overrides sense and then you have to return to the real world??  You will have to read to find out! :-)

A fantastic five star read.

What do you do when the darkest parts of life takes you back home to restart and try again?  Well if you are anything like Emma Dunn you get your feet back under you and grow stronger through the trial!  I love when a book can not only grab me but keep me long after I turn the last page.  A Lucky Second Chance explores falling in love after living with abuse and dealing with the scars no one can see and the aftereffects no one could have predicted. When I began to read this book I am not sure what I was expecting but ALSC blew any and all expectations out of the water!!  I laughed I cried and I fell in love with these beautiful people, Emma and Nathan will grab your heart and hold it long after the last page.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your book?
Well, let’s see, I’m 26 years old and married to my best friend for almost two years now. I’ve struggled to find the “light” when it came to something that I wanted to do career wise with my life, till I discovered writing. I love it and I really do hope to make a career of it someday.

ALSC came out of my brain on a whim. I never thought of this story until I started writing. I find my best thoughts come out when I just sit down and write. It all comes to me. I’m not one of those authors that goes out with a notebook strapped to them, I never truly think of ideas until I’m smack down in front of a computer. Then I just type away, and that’s exactly what I did with A Lucky Second Chance. I really hope you all enjoy the book! It’s a good suspenseful romance that make you not want to stop once you start!

Outside of writing, what other things do you do or enjoy?
Outside of writing? What’s that? HAHA just kidding! I take breaks quite often on the weekend and spend time with the husband. We love to go to movies, hang out with friends, have a bon fire, catch a Dierks Bentley concert, or just relax. With our work M-F everyday work schedules we tend to want to just spend time with each other on the weekends! I also love to cook and try new recipes or make own recipes up!

Who are you inspired by?
Honestly, I’m inspired by these other wonderful Indie Authors I’ve gotten to know very well. Us indies’ struggle to get our names out there and for people to read our books. It amazes how many authors, bloggers, fans have LIKED my facebook page before my book is even out! They already want signed copies, swag, etc…and they haven’t read my book yet, just teasers! These LIKES inspire me alone because it means people want to read my work, they want to read MY WORK! I still can’t fathom seeing my name on my own paperback! Thank you for the continued support from you all, you make my life just that much better!

What are you reading at the moment?
I’m currently reading Taking Chances by Molly McAdams

Are there any other works in progress at the moment?
There are two works in progress at the moment! I’m so excited to share with you in July the title for my next book! I’m jumping in my seat, excited for my next book in general! It’s a little different then ALSC and I’m hoping you guys will love it! I’m hoping for a release date of October 2013 but that’s just a hopeful guestimate! The second work in progress, which I don’t have a title for yet, I’m hoping to be out by February or March 2014!

What got you started in writing?
This may sound totally goofy, and don’t make fun of me, but Fifty Shades of Grey actually pushed me to write my own story. I absolutely loved the story line, when I read that book, I couldn’t put it down! Then it dawned on me, hm, I should write my own kind of books! There it was a few months later I opened up Word and just started typing and my ideas just started to flow like crazy. Can you believe that I actually hated to read when I was younger? Never read any books unless school forced me to! Then, about a year ago I started a series of books my mom recommended and it immediately hit me, I wasn’t reading the genre that I was interested in! Now I’m hooked on reading, and even more, writing!

Do you model any of your characters or situations off of real life?
My characters are all fictional in ALSC, completely made up and resemble no particular person, event, or place.

Thank you for the interview! It was my pleasure to fill you in on some extra information! You guys all mean the world to me! I’m so thankful for such a growing community, with amazing fans that show me the best support a girl could ask for! I appreciate the blessing that God has given me for this wonderful opportunity of being an Author. It makes me feel so happy to be able to share this novel with the world!

Resisting the Bad Boy By Violet Duke

I received this book for an honest review

This book is wonderful.  I would highly suggest this series to anyone that enjoys a good contemporary romance.  Abby and Conner will have you grinding your teeth in anticapation of what is to come, and clicking through the pages faster then your kindle can keep up. :) The story has so much going on with the main characters but remains a strong story and holds the reader intrest very well.  I sat down with this book and didn't get up till I was finished.  I will say that the end has a cliffhanger that will leave you begging for more.  I for one cannot wait for the next in the series due out VERY soon!!!!!

Abby Bartlett is the quintessential nice girl. Between teaching, volunteering, completing her PhD, and helping her best friend raise his daughter, Abby never gets the chance to be anything but nice. That is, until the all-wrong-for-her man she's only ever known from afar starts daring her to simply take that chance for herself. His sage advice? Try something wild and fast.

Preferably him.

An unbridled, hotshot attorney with a not-so-little black book, Connor Sullivan has earned himself quite the bad boy reputation. But in his defense, he's a very conscientious one. He knows far too well that sometimes in life, love isn't enough...or worse, not even a factor at all. To avoid that misery--and repel the drama--Connor always makes his one and only rule crystal clear right from the start. Absolutely nothing more than a month.

Turns out, a whole lot can happen in one month.

Who He Is By. Shanora Williams ( Adult excerpt included 18 + only thank you)

I am late for a cover reveal and owe a major apology to an awesome author and lady Ms. Shanora Williams!!!  So here it is everyone a little late but absolutely worth it :)

Ms. Williams has already written a wonderful book Hard to Resist under the pen name S.Q. Williams.

Excerpt from Who He Is:
Lifting his hands, Gage gripped the edge of the pool and pressed his arousal against me. When he was done tasting my neck, he devoured my lips, and I couldn’t help it; I wrapped my arms around his neck. My legs squeezed tighter around him, wanting to feel his hardness against me. It was turning me on in more ways than one. His silky tongue, although laced with alcohol, tasted sweet as it ran over mine.
He started to rub against me and I moaned, running my fingers through his slick hair. His hard chest was pressed firmly against mine, no space between us. The little nibbles and bites he took of my lower lip were driving me insane. His fingers that snuck beneath my bathing suit to slide inside me caused my moans to grow louder and his lips to fall so he could grunt against my neck.
I was spiraling, bucking against him once again. “You like that?” he whispered gruffly in my ear. He reached behind me with his other hand and unhooked the top of my bathing suit. I could have stopped him, but I didn’t. A growl came from his throat as he stared at my bare chest.
I nodded my head at his question, my body begging him to continue. Who knew his fingers could be so magical? He was pushing in and out of me, circling his thumb across my core. I was so close. My fingernails bit into his skin and he went faster, faster, faster, sending me higher and higher… but then he just stopped. Right when I was about to reach the point of it all.
“What the hell are you doing?” I breathed raggedly, aggravated.
He smirked, looking into my eyes and pulling his fingers out of my bottoms. I wanted to beg for his fingers not to leave, but I didn’t. It would have been too embarrassing and shallow. “Since we’re only ‘friends,’ I can’t give you the full effect.”
I scowled at him. “You’re kidding.” He raised an eyebrow. “Right?
“No, Ellie. Let’s just do this shit. I swear it’ll be fun.”
“What do you mean?” I asked, but I knew exactly what he was talking about.
“Nothing between us has to change. It doesn’t have to be serious and I think if we try to continue this little war, someone’s gonna get hurt. Why not just give in to the temptation? We can still be friends, but maybe we can involve the bed and handcuffs I brought up to before at the club?”
He gave a lazy smirk and I snickered. I thought it over, replaying the conversation Montana and I had just moments ago, knowing he was right. I wanted to do more things with Gage than I thought, and with him giving me an orgasm the night before, I was desperate and in need of more. It was bad, but it felt good to be satisfied—to reach the point of bliss and not come down for hours. I didn’t want anyone else in the band to try and give me that kind of satisfaction. Gage was my best bet, so I shrugged and thought to myself, Fuck it. Montana was right. I had to take risks and I was going to be taking a big one with Gage Grendel.
“Okay,” I said right before kissing him and allowing him to finish what he started.

Playing catch up

So as some of you may know there was a few things going on personally that has kept me from my wonderful blog family so today we will be playing catch up.  :-)

Reveiw #1

Temptaion Unleashed
By: Sherry Stanfield

I was given a copy of this book for an honest reveiw.
I love a paranormal with a twist and this one had me turned around inside out.  What would you do if the line between light and dark was no longer there and what you thought of as evil and dark now housed inside of your very soul?  This is the very that our hero ben has to face, fight and overcome.  Ben and his friend Roch are thrust into a world where the supposed monsters are divided into groups of good and evil based on their own merits.  Follow Ben into the embracing darkness where the only thing to fear beyond the demons around you is the on IN you! My only upset with the story being the development was a little rushed in a few places, but that in no way stopped me from enjoying the story very much and looking forward to many more from this author!

Reveiw #2

He Loved Me Not
By. Rhed Draven

I was given this book for an honest review
Have you ever picked up a story full of steam and loving?  Where the story intwined with the hot spots pulls you in equally?  He Loved Me Not is absolutely like that.  While the story itself is short it packs a wallop and is a fun read for a rainy day afternoon.  Follow Bryce and Chritina as they meet again after many years and find out that even when life hurts true love will remain strong and will always find is way back to the heart.  Short story but one that will have me looking for more by this author.

(contains adult language 18 and over please)

Excerpt One

Instead of doing as she was told Melanie slapped her hand down on the lock next to her. She then scrambled across the gearstick to yank the driver’s door closed, locking it the moment it slammed shut. With the car secured she settled herself behind the wheel, her hand groping for the keys so she could make her escape.
A tap on the window made her look round. She found him waving the keys and smiling in a way that made her tremble with fear. She sat there frozen as he unlocked the door and pulled it open. “That wasn’t very sensible,” he told her, his voice menacing. “I told you to get out. Now do as I told you.”
“No! Please, just take me home.”
“I think you need to be taught a lesson. You need to be taught what happens to girls who don’t do as they’re told.” Yanking her from the car he let her fall to the ground as he shoved the door closed, he then turned back to kick her. “Get up and get inside,” he ordered. “I said, get up.” He kicked her again, though she hadn’t had time to make even one attempt at raising herself from the ground.

Excerpt Two

“I can appreciate that; she’s a mean bitch when she’s mad at someone.”
The lawyer chose not to comment on that statement, though they both knew the truth of it. “Why don’t you tell me what’s going on, and how you got yourself stuck in a cell?” Frankie suggested as the door opened to reveal a constable, bearing the requested coffee. “You didn’t say much on the phone, just that you were in trouble and needed a criminal lawyer.”

Excerpt Three

Underwood secured Gordon’s arms while Donna handcuffed him. “As soon as they let me go I’m gonna to be back. I fucking know what you did you fucking prick, and I’m going to fucking kill you!” The handcuffs didn't prevent Gordon making threats.

“Shut up, Gordon!” Underwood smacked him on the back of the head after hauling him to his feet. “Now, since you are both here, I might as well question the two of you together, it will save me some time.” Michael simply stared impassively at his fellow teen, while Gordon struggled against the restraints as if he thought he could break them, despite having failed to do so on numerous occasions in the past. “I think it would be best if you take the girls into the living room, Constable,” Underwood said finally, “while I talk to Michael and Gordon.”

Excerpt Four

“What have you got against Michael Davis?” Donna wanted to know. “I know you think he’s a prick, though I’ve never heard anyone else say much of anything bad about him, other than he’s a bit full of himself. And let’s be honest, you’re just as bad in that respect. But do you actually have a reason for thinking he is capable of murder?” Gordon didn’t answer; he merely kicked the crushed packet of crisps and dropped heavily back onto the bed. “Personally I’d pick you as a murderer ahead of Michael, especially after earlier.”

“If you guys hadn’t come when you did I would have finished that asshole.”

“But why? You must have a reason for believing Michael is the one who killed Danielle. If you know something you have to tell us,” Donna insisted. “This isn’t just about your cousin, Gordon, Emma’s missing as well.”
